IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) annually administers the IBPS Clerk exam. It is the governing body in charge of recruiting fresh staff for India’s public sector banks.

Each year, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) for positions in the Clerical Cadre at 11 Public Sector Banks. IBPS CLERK Eligibility

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection sets the IBPS Clerk Eligibility criteria.

Eligibility in terms of age limit

Candidates should be at least 20 years and maximum 28 years old.

This age limit is for people belonging to the unreserved/general category.

Eligibility in terms of citizenship

The candidates applying for the exam should fulfil the following criteria:

1. Citizenship of India
2. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan
3. Tibetan Refugee who arrived before January 1, 1962
4. A person of Indian origin migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma(Myanmar), Vietnam or East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire or Ethiopia to permanently settle in India

All candidates who are not Indian citizens have to produce a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India before their appointment.

IBPS Clerk Eligibility- Educational Qualification

Candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

IBPS Clerk Pre-Exam Training

The Nodal Banks/ Participating Organisations may arrange Pre-Examination Training to a limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities/ Ex-Servicemen/ Persons With Benchmark Disabilities at certain centres viz.

These centres are Agartala, Agra, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Balasore, Bareilly, Behrampur (Ganjam), Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, etc.

All eligible candidates who want to avail the Pre-Examination Training facility should fill in the relevant column in the IBPS Clerk Online Application.

While training will be imparted free of cost, all other expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. will have to be borne by the candidate for attending the pre-examination training programme at the designated Centres.

Candidates have to secure sectional cut-off marks as well as an overall IBPS clerk cut-off to be able to move to the next stage.

Both the IBPS Clerk exams are conducted in English and Hindi except for the parts which test the English language ability of the candidate.

There is negative marking for incorrect answers. Each wrong answer attracts a penalty of ¼ of the marks allotted to that question.

IBPS Clerk Online Apply

IBPS is yet to publish the dates for the online application procedure for the IBPS Clerk 2023 exam.
